Restrictions on Number of Absences
Please ensure that students have no more than four (4) unexcused absences each semester so course credit
is not denied by State attendance policies.

Students have three (3) days upon return from an absence to submit documentation to excuse their absence. If documentation is not submitted by the 4th day, the absence becomes "unexcused." If you wish, you may use this form to document the student absence.

Students who have five (5) unexcused absences will lose credit for classes affected by those absences. Students who have three (3) unexcused absences are considered "Truant" by TEA.

Approved Absences
TEA-approved absences include: religious holy days, required court appearances, illness (note from parent or doctor),
illness (use form or provide parent note), and health care appointments (note from doctor).
All other absences will be unexcused without prior approval. Proper documentation, such as a medical excuse,
MUST be provided for all absences of five (5) or more days.

Picking Up Students from School
Adults picking up students from school must show proper identification, and may only pick up students for medical appointments, legal appointments, or emergency/medical reasons. Students may not be called out of class after 3:25 p.m. (school ends at 3:40 p.m.)
