2009 Senior Activities

Senior activity days are Wednesday, May 27 and Thursday, May 28.  Although these are not class days, they are still school days and all seniors are required to be present on these days.  On both days, seniors should report to the school cafeteria by 8:30am and sign in.  We will be departing from the cafeteria promptly at 8:40am on both days.
 
Wednesday, May 27, 2009: Graduation Rehearsal and Senior Lunch.
On Wednesday we will carpool to the Kingdom Builders Center for graduation rehearsal which begins at 9:00am.  We ask that students who drive make arrangements to help transport those who don’t drive to rehearsal.  After rehearsal we will go out for lunch at Chile’s, located at 7408 S. Sam Houston-Parkway W, Houston, TX 77085 (2.5 miles from the Kingdom Builders Center). Lunch will be fajitas and will be provided from senior dues.  District policy prohibits us from including a tip in any district payment, so students should bring $1 or $2 to tip our servers.  We will return to campus by 1:15 for dismissal in case any students are riding the bus.
 
Thursday, May 28, 2009: Senior Picnic.
On Thursday we will take two buses to H&H Ranch located at 4000 Greens Road, Houston, TX 77032 for the senior picnic.  The following activities are available: horseshoes, basketball, volleyball, and softball.  All equipment is provided by the venue except for softball equipment.  Students should bring appropriate clothing and sunscreen.  Lunch will be hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, cookies, and soft drinks.  We will return to campus by 1:15 for dismissal in case any students are riding the bus.

A letter was sent home to all senior parents with the above information on Thursday, May 14, 2009.  In that letter was a memo from Mr. Moss with policies about graduation (dress code, behavior, etc.) that must be signed by parent and student and returned to Mr. Barnes ASAP.
 
Caps and gowns were distributed during advocacy on Wednesday, May 13, 2009.  Any student who is still in need of a cap and gown needs to contact Balfour immediately.  The Balfour Representative is Marshall Law; his contact number is 713-446-9651.
